Rumors are that the State Election Commission is likely to issue notification for municipal and municipal corporation elections in Andhra Pradesh on the 22nd of February. Greater Vishakapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) elections are also likely to happen.
The election will be very interesting to watch since YSR Congress has made Vishakapatnam the Executive Capital and is also trying to portray TDP as an anti-Vishakapatnam party for its support to Amaravati. TDP despite its horrible performance in the last elections managed to win all the four Assembly seats that come under the Vishakapatnam parliament.
It lost Vishakapatnam Lok Sabha by a bare margin. So, this election will be interesting to watch. YSR Congress will go all out to win its election and prove its three capitals strategy right. However, it will not be totally happy to fight such a crucial election in Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar’s tenure.
