IPL 2021 has been suspended after COVID cases have surfaced in multiple teams. The other day, COVID cases have surfaced in the Kolkata Knight Riders team. As a result, the match between KKR and RCB at Ahmedabad was rescheduled.
Later Chennai Super Kings coach Balaji has tested positive and tomorrow’s game between CSK and RR also is rescheduled as Balaji is in the team meetings and dugout for CSK’s previous game in Delhi. The team has gone into isolation since yesterday.
Now, Sunrisers Hyderabad Wicket Keeper, Wriddiman Saha is also tested positive which means the entire team may have to go into six days of hard quarantine and return three negative RT-PCR reports during the course of it. Today’s match between SRH and MI also had to be rescheduled.
There are reports that positive cases have surfaced in Delhi Capitals team as well. Considering the grim situation, the BCCI has decided to suspend the tournament for now. The complete details are yet to emerge.
