Telangana Government is gearing up to launch Free Fertilizers scheme from the next year and this scheme is likely to cost 8000 Crore for the state exchequer. Even though it is difficult to implement, KCR wants to do that for the sake of 2019 Assembly elections.
However, the government has got some respite in the form of court litigations. Nearly 9 lakh acres of 69 lakh acres surveyed so far is embroiled in litigation in Telangana. The number will increase further after completing the survey across the state.
The state government is unlikely to extend input subsidy at the rate of 4,000 per acre for two crops from next year to claimants of litigant lands whose cases are pending in court. Thus litigations saved KCR Government some big bucks.
