Coronavirus Scare To Postpone IPL?IPL, the Biggest Cricketing Event of the year which begins on the 29th of this month is likely to be postponed amid the Coronavirus scare. The government of India canceled all the Visas except a few categories like diplomatic and employment, till April 15th which may prevent the participation of the foreign players.

Moreover, there are concerns that huge crowds coming in for the matches may aid the community-spreading. The fate of the IPL itself will be decided on March 14 at the event’s Governing Council meeting in Mumbai. Rumors are that the matches may be played in closed stadiums if necessary.

However, that would only depend on the participation of the Foreign players as it would take the sheen out of the craziest cricketing event. It is not feasible to play the event at a later date because that would mean that the rest of the teams may have bilateral commitments after April and May.

India has reported around 60 positive cases in the outbreak which has led to over 4,000 deaths globally.
