Corona Crisis: CM KCR Confused About The Way OutAccording to the Medical Bulletin released last night, Telangana has recorded 1,009 cases. The state has been recording a single-digit number of cases that opened the Pandora Box. The state is just testing around 150 people a day while the remaining states are testing in 1000s.

People of the state are very much worried if this under-testing strategy may backfire. On the other side, all eyes are on the Lockdown which will expire on May 7th. While the nationwide Lockdown was extended until May 3rd, Telangana is the only state to extend it further until May 7th.

Telangana opted for a complete Lockdown even though the Central Government gave some relaxations to the Green Zone areas. Now, the big question is what is going to happen after May 7th. More than 50% of the total cases in the state are from the GHMC area.

A huge Muslim population present there meant more attendees to the Nizamuddin Markaz event which has become the epicenter of Corona Cases in India. A relaxation would mean the risk of huge gatherings in the Ramzan season. So, the Chief Minister is thinking on the lines to enforce complete Lockdown at least in the GHMC area until the end of the month.

But such a decision would mean huge financial loss as the GHMC area is the major contributor in Telangana’s Revenue. The state is already relying heavily on external borrowings to even run the day-to-day affairs. Already the state has been differing the salaries of Government employees for two months.
