Hyderabad-Skyscraper-Apartments-CREDAI

Super high-rise commercial buildings are becoming more common in Hyderabad just like other metropolitan cities in the country. There is a shortage of space and an increasing population which is leading to an increase in the number of such buildings. Super high-rise apartments are gradually accepted by Hyderabadis as an appropriate solution to housing provision for the growing populace.

But there are people who are opposing this change. TPCC president Revanth Reddy says that such skyscrapers would cast a negative impact on the ecosystem and infrastructure. He made allegations that the BRS government was permitting the construction of a 25 lakh sq ft built-up area in five acres against the permitted built-up area of six lakhs to seven lakhs sq ft.

But CREDAI has dismissed these allegations as baseless. They have issued a statement that high-rise buildings in the city help in creating housing and providing the latest amenities in residential complexes.

There are also people who say that it becomes very difficult to evacuate in an emergency, such as a fire, in a high-rise apartment. Also during earthquakes, taller buildings are more likely to be damaged.

But CREDAI states that the fears about fire safety hazards in high-rise apartments are blown out of proportion. Builders and authorities are taking abundant measures to make the buildings safe for the residents.

The reports suggest that the demand for luxury apartments in Hyderabad is on an increase and it is reflected in the building registrations in February.
