Congress Takes A Huge Risk for Mahakutami Reports are emerging that Congress has decided to compromise itself to ensure that Mahakutami stays. The Grand Old Party which was keen on having 100 seats to itself reportedly confined itself to 90 giving the rest 29 to the allies. Telugu Desam Party will be walking away with the next highest number of seat i.e., 15 seats followed by Kodandaram‘s Telangana Jana Samiti which will get 10.

CPI will be contesting in four seats. This is a huge gamble by Congress since it is not clear about the actual strength of TDP and TJS. TDP is severely battered after Bifurcation and the Vote for Note Case while Kodandaram’s Party did not even have a common symbol. CPI as we all know may at best get a seat or two in their strong pockets.

So, if the worst fears of Congress comes true a Minimum of 20 seats will be offered to The Ruling Party on a platter. Congress may have to offset the loss by giving many of its weakest seats to allies in this 29 seats which means it is allotting seats to the allies just for the sake of giving them. After finishing the seat sharing, Congress is planning to release its first list comprising of 60 candidates.

TRS has already announced 106 candidates and is cruising in the campaign. CM KCR himself has addressed more than half a dozen Public meetings so far. Congress has to do a lot to catch up. Elections for Telangana will be held on December 7th and the results will be out on 11th. TRS is very confident of getting a Second Term.
