Congress Party had announced that it will be contesting the upcoming by-election of Nandhyala. PCC President Raghuveera Reddy announced that they will declare a candidate very soon. If at all Congress fields a strong candidate, it will be detrimental to YSR Congress.
Congress and YSR Congress share the same vote bank. YSR Congress grew with the decline of Congress and if Congress strengthens, YSR Congress Vote will be decimated. But then, fielding a strong candidate will be no easy task for Congress.
At most Congress can target getting the deposit. Nandhyala by-election is necessitated due to Sitting MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy’s sudden demise. The by-election notification is delayed due to the ongoing Presidential Election Exercise.
