Congress-Intentionally-Delaying-Candidates-AnnouncementTelangana is going to elections on December 7th and the results will be out on 11th. The elections were necessitated after KCR dissolved the State Assembly in September. TRS has already announced 107 candidates out of the total 119 constituencies of the state and is already in the forefront in the campaigning while Congress did not announce any candidate.

The first list of Mahakutami may be out only after Diwali which means the party candidates will have less than one month to campaign. There are reports that even the seat sharing between the parties in Mahakutami is not finalized yet. But then, sources in Congress tell us that the delay is intentional.

“We have our first list of candidates ready well in advance. But then, once we announce them the ruling party will try to poach them and also push rebels against the candidates. So, we are delaying the announcement. The candidates know who is getting the tickets and they are already on the ground”, a source in Gandhi Bhavan told us.

But then, this move may not work always. If the announcement is delayed, the party will have to negotiate with the rebels till the last minute killing the precious time for campaigning. But Congress says that it is already doing that and there is nothing to worry. It has to be seen if this ploy of Congress works in this crucial election.
