Rahul-Gandhi---Sonia-GandhiCongress Party seems to be still struggling. After Rahul Gandhi resigned to the Party President Position, the Party is in search of a non-Gandhi President but in vain. The CWC meeting which happened for the last two days proved to be inconclusive, the CWC brought back Sonia Gandhi as the Interim President.

Two different opinions are being peddled in this aspect. Sonia Gandhi has taken the mantle of Congress in 1998 when the party is in Crisis and brought the party to power in 2004. Under her leadership, Party won two elections and lost one. So, Congress supporters say that she is the best bet for the party in this crisis.

There is a different set of people who criticize this move and ridicule that the Grand Old Party could not come out of the looming shadows of the Gandhi family. They also say the party could not find a dynamic leader to lead the party and had to go to a reluctant Sonia Gandhi to lead the party.

Congress Party had suffered two back to back defeats. In 2014, the party has just managed around 40 seats while in the recent elections, it managed to cross the half-century mark. What is more disappointing is that there is no light even at the end of the tunnel for the party. This will also mean there is no stopping to BJP and the absence of Opposition is never a good sign to democracy.
