Narendra Modi - Amit ShahBJP high command has suddenly changed the Chief Minister of Karnataka. The party has replaced BS Yediyurappa with Basavaraj Bommai. This has led to widespread criticism not only from the others but also from the insiders of the party.

The timing of the change and the change itself is a big surprise because Yediyurappa is a leader of the grassroots and is the reason for BJP’s success in the only state of the South. Moreover, there is no real reason for the change as the ruling is going on smooth.

The worst part is that Yediyurappa has been replaced by Basavaraj Bommai – son of former Chief Minister. He is relatively unknown leader within the party. And also brings the criticism of nepotism and dynasty politics. The way BJP has handled this entire episode reminds the way how Congress used to behave in its Prime.

Modi and Shah seems to be going there after being in power for seven years. Hopefully that attitude will not cost them the only state of the South they hold.
