Finally, there is some movement in the Mahakutami camp. Congress and TDP together have announced 74 candidates who will be contesting the elections. Out of the 74, Congress has field 65 candidates while TDP has put up Nine. The rest of the allies in Mahakutami are expected to announce their candidates today.
Going by the list, the candidates look formidable. Both the parties have let out the names of candidates who are strong. Congress seems to have taken care of social equations with a good representation of SCs and STs but then, the Reddy community continues to dominate the Grand old party. On the other side, it has to be seen how the party will deal with the Rebel candidates in the next few days.
According to the political experts, if the election happens purely on the basis of candidates, Mahakutami candidates look much better than that of the candidates of TRS but then the pink party is banking on Telangana sentiment and the image of KCR to win the elections. There are reports coming in that the concerns of Telangana Jana Samiti and CPI are still to be addressed.
CPI, in particular, is threatening to contest independently if their demands are not met with. And then, Congress and TDP need to announce their final list of candidates as TRS candidates are at the forefront of the campaign. TRS just have to announce 12 more candidates. 19th is the last date for filing nominations the following will happen on December 7th and the results will be he out on 11th of that month
