Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy troubled Telugu Film Industry a lot. The industry was pushed into a crisis last year in the name of untenable ticket rates.
It was evident back then that the Chief Minister sees the industry as Pro-Kamma and Pro-TDP. He did not relent until Chiranjeevi plead with him with folded hands and until Mahesh Babu and Prabhas go to him.
It’s been quite a while but it looks like the Chief Minister is carrying the same feeling even now. He mentioned it in his speech in the assembly about Amaravati the other day.
Indirectly mentioning the Kamma caste, Jagan went on to say that these people want only their people to do films and remain in the industry.
Today we have a movie release in Tollywood with Kamma producers with Reddy hero.
There is another film with a BC producer and a Kamma hero. And then, there is a film with girls of other states playing the lead roles.
Even with such diversity, the mindset of some people does not change. Sadly, even the Chief Minister has such low thinking.
