Senior actress Vanisri received a huge relief as her property worth Rs 20 Crore in Chennai, which was usurped by the land mafia, was given back to her. This was possible due to a new law brought in by Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin’s government. On Wednesday, CM Stalin handed over the property documents to Vanisri. The land was grabbed through fraud registration at the Secretariat.
Vanisri thanked MK Stalin for bringing in the new law enabling retrieval of the land by canceling the fraudulent registration and issuing fresh orders to the rightful owners.
Vanisri recollected the amount of struggle she had to go through in the last 11 years running around courts for justice. She was completely exhausted physically, emotionally, and also financially.
And then a miracle happened when the TN Chief Minister showed her the way to retrieve her property on Nelson Manickam Road with the help of the new law.
Vanisri had earlier purchased the property in Chennai in 1970 which was more than 9000 sq ft. It was used by her husband to run a battery factory. The business got closed due to losses and the land was kept vacant.
Without her knowledge, the property was sold by a fraud person and she had filed a case with the anti-land grabbing cell. The case was finally solved in 2021.
The new Registration Act was implemented by the TN government which allows the registration department to cancel fraudulent registrations. This act was of great help to property owners like Vanisri in fighting land grabbers and reclaiming their property.
