YS Jagan REddyAndhra Pradesh Government has recently hiked the property tax in the state. On this occasion, Andhrajyothy has published a news story alleging that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy himself is a property tax defaulter. Ever since becoming the Chief Minister, Jagan did not pay property tax for his party office and residence in Tadepalli.

While the outstanding tax amount is 13.85 Lakh Rupees. A penalty of 2.82 Lakh Rupees has been levied by the Municipal department taking the total outstanding to 16.67 Lakh Rupees. Both these properties are in the name of the Chief Minister’s wife, Bharathi Reddy.

Usually, if a Chief Minister resides in government buildings, the property taxes and other taxes are taken care of from the public exchequer. But then, Jagan is residing and working from his own private properties. In case the Chief Minister wants, the government can bring in a G.O. to waive off the property tax.

With the issue arriving in the media, the Chief Minister is likely to address the issue!
