Clinical-Trials-of-India's-First-Corona-Vaccine-Begins-in-AP-and-TSThe Clinical Trials of COVAXIN, India’s first indigenous Coronavirus Vaccine began today across 60 hospitals in the country. NIMS in Hyderabad, KGH in Vishakapatnam are among the 60 hospitals. Both hospitals start the registration of healthy people.

Healthy people who voluntarily come forward will give their blood samples. After conducting various tests, the final list will be confirmed. Two does will be given to each person. After the first dose, the person will be in the hospital for two days. The second dose will be after 14 days.

In phase 1, Bharat Biotech plans to enroll 375 people for the clinical trials scheduled that are scheduled to start next week and 750 people will enroll in the second phase. The company has set July 13 as the final date of enrollment for the trials. Earlier, the Government dropped a hint of August 15th release for the vaccine.

But it has dropped the idea after the criticism by experts who said that fast-tracking vaccine trials in four weeks could pose serious health risks.
