Post the state bifurcation, Congress party which claims to have over 125 years of history is totally wiped out of Seema Andhra. The region which generously contributed Congress to come in to power both in the center and the state for the last two terms completely disappeared this time. The party was reduced to absolute Zero MLA and MP seats in the region which means the first Assembly in the New Andhra Pradesh will have no representation at all.
However Congress now have to battle all odds in the region in order to stand a chance of a possible comeback. The only option available for them in the Council. Based on the past numbers, Congress still have good representation there. It even gets the Chairman post there. So Congress had elected C.Rama Chandraiah as the opposition leader in the Council. Congress future fortunes will depend on him.
