The news of Chiranjeevi doing his 150th movie erupted on Wednesday night. While it is too early to judge the authenticity of the news, we shall discuss up on the test case ‘what if it is true?’. The actor established his Praja Rajyam Party in 2008 amid huge fan fare and hungama. From a calculation of being a king maker, the results grounded him to just 18 MLA seats with himself facing defeat in his home district. As Chiranjeevi known to all, people expected him to fight sitting in opposition but Chiranjeevi merged his party in Congress in exchange of some ministries to himself and his keen followers.
This came as a huge disappointment for his hardcore fans and the caste which shouldered him. It is now the case, he can not even contest in a direct election as a MLA/MP. Congress party may just use his charisma for campaign and give him a rest after 2014 elections. But behind the minds of his loyalists, there is always a thought ‘What if he still continued the party?’ or ‘What if he quit politics immediately after 2009 elections?’. Both the cases would have doubled his image in people and history. But now Politics will only remain as dark chapters in his history book.
