Chandrababu-AP-formation-dayAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reiterated that June 2nd will be considered as the Formation day of the state going further. There are objections from some quarters regarding celebrating the day of forceful bifurcation but Chandrababu Naidu explained the rationale behind choosing the day “I know people are hurt due to bifurcation and do not want to celebrating June 2nd as Formation day. But I have intentionally chosen it because every one will have to remember the injustice done to the state and work with more vigour for the all round development”.

It is known to our readers that there were divided opinions regarding the State Formation day till now. Some people say that AP should observe October 1 as the formation day as it was on this day that Andhra state was formed after separation from the Madras Presidency in 1953. The state that was formed from Madras Presidency exists today. And there are some people who argue to take the recent appointed day, June 2nd as the formation day. However few differ with that opinion as the state was still under President’s rule till June 8th. TDP formed the government only on 8th and some say the day on which elected government exists should be considered as the formation day.

The topic is unearthed once again as the formation day is nearing. With Chandrababu Naidu’s announcement, it is clear that the state government will be officially recognizing June 2nd and will celebrate it accordingly. The day will also be a state holiday going further.
