In the recent election to Andhra Pradesh Assembly, YSR Congress polled almost close to 50%. TDP has polled close to 40% and the Cycle Party estimates that the BC Community which is the strong support base of the party has also deserted it. TDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu is keen on earning that back.
Chandrababu Naidu is not keen on taking up the Leader of Opposition Post and wants to give to a BC MLA in the assembly. Rumors are that Tekkeli MLA and the Labour Minister in the Previous Government Kinjarapu Atchannaidu may become TDLP leader. The Legislative Party Meeting of TDP may happen on 29th of this month.
On the other side, there are rumors that Former Deputy Chief Minister, Nimmakayala Chinnarajappa may also get the post. Chinnarajappa is known to be a loyalist of the party and belongs to the Kapu Community. This is a crucial decision and it has to be seen how things pan out for Telugu Desam Party.
A majority of MLAs who are elected from the Telugu Desam Party are from the Kamma Community. Chandrababu Naidu is unlikely to give the community MLAs a chance given that the Kamma tag on the party has damaged it big time in the recent elections.
