chandrababu-naidu-the-crisis-manager-into-actionSevere Cyclone Vardah is moving close to Andhra Pradesh and is expected to make a landfall on Monday night between Sriharikota and Krishnapatnam. Chandrababu Naidu’s government is constantly monitoring the situation as rainfall in excess of 20cm is expected to hit several parts.

The Chief Minister who was supposed to go on a tour to Dubai canceled the trip in the last minute to combat the cyclone. This decision of Chandrababu won accolades from all as he chose to stay with the state and the people in the hour of crisis.

The condition is extremely crucial as people are already suffering from severe cash crunch due to Demonetization. Cyclone if severe will have all sorts of problems for the people like essential commodities shortage etc. Naidu is constantly reviewing the preparedness at the command and control center.

He directed the officials of Krishna, Guntur, Nellore and Prakasam districts to be on high alert. He was told them to evacuate the affected people before the cyclone hits the coast. In Nellore district where the landfall is expected to happen, more than 15-20 cm of rainfall is expected in just six hours. Heavy rain is expected to lash Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa and Anantapur districts in these two days.
