Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Goods Services Tax Bill is ratified without the need of Andhra Pradesh ruled by BJP’s ally, TDP. The Bill since is a constitutional amendment, have to be passed by at least half of the states in the country which means at least 15 states in the country have to pass the Bill.
The other day, Odisha Assembly ratified the bill and became the fifteenth state to ratify the landmark bill. Andhra Pradesh Assembly is going to sit for a special session later this week to ratify the bill but then the support is irrelevant now. Due to this reason, Telangana government hurried up and convened a one-day session last week.
Telangana CM KCR wants to be in the good books of Prime Minister Modi with such mood and successful in that. Naidu on the other hand somehow missed the berth. The Central government is planning to bring the GST into effect from April 1st, 2017. The central government calls GST as the biggest economic reform in the country.
