chandrababu naidu fibre grid cisco andhra pradeshAP CM Chandra Babu Naidu dream project to provide internet connectivity to every household becomes realised by 2018. Tera Software has bagged the phase-I of the AP fibre Grid project conceived to lay down broad band cables in 2,500 villages.

Tera Software with the Cisco as its technology partner has become lowest bidder by quoting Rs. 320Crs for Phase-I of project. An agreement is scheduled to sign between CBN and Cisco executive chairman John Chambers along with Cisco India and SAARC president Dinesh Malkani, in Visakhapatnam on March 17. In this phase, 2,450 points of presence(POP) will be established across the state, District and Mandal levels to provide the internet connectivity to the said 2,500 villages.

Tera software uses existing electrical poles to lay down the broad band overhead cable. If this becomes operational, people of AP can aces 10-20Mbps speed of internet with mere cost of Rs.150.
