A few media houses are reporting that Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is flying to Delhi later today. They say he will be meeting Home Minister Amit Shah this evening and is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow.
There are speculations that this is to pursue an alliance with BJP.
Chandrababu Naidu is handling the issue of alliances very well. He and Lokesh stopped talking about alliances for a long time. They have been announcing candidates without hesitation.
That is giving the impression they are confident in their own way and are not desperate for alliances. This is a blunder if it happens.
BJP can not be trusted in any way even if it agrees for an alliance. We have seen the Central Government going out of its way to help Jagan by distributing freebies.
The Revenue deficit for 2014-15 was pursued by Chandrababu Naidu for a long time. Even though TDP was a part of the Central Government back then, Modi did not give.
All of a sudden, the amount was released to help Jagan to splurge money. This is a clear indication of where the priorities of Modi and Shah lie.
Naidu should be so innocent to believe them. Even if they agree to an alliance, it is most likely they will continue to help Jagan behind the scenes.
Both Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan should come to terms with the reality they are fighting two enemies and work for the support of the people to negate the advantage the Central Government brings to Jagan.
They need not confront the BJP but should accept the fact that BJP and Jagan are hand in glove.
