Andhra Pradesh government is contemplating to cancel the Winter Session of Assembly totally as the Assembly temporary buildings are not yet complete and the government is in no mood to conduct the session in Hyderabad. The government is planning to conduct direct budget sessions in February at Velagapudi.
Government sources say that the construction works are almost complete and the interior works alone will take around one-and-half- month to complete the Assembly buildings to start conducting the sessions. Usually, Winter sessions are conducted in December. It is more of a tradition than a rule.
The rule only says that the state has to organize Assembly Sessions for every six months and there is no rule or legislation to conduct Winter Session compulsorily. The government may go for direct Budget Sessions in February.
