Tamil Nadu is still struggling to come into the reality of Jayalalithaa. O Paneer Selvam who is the makeshift Chief Minister previously, needs to realize that he is his own man. Immediately after Jayalalithaa’s demise, OPS faced the first biggest challenge in the form of Vardah Cyclone.
Even after days of the cyclone, the Telecom network is still badly affected. The communications systems had a collateral effect on ATMs and credit and debit card transactions and brought the city to its feet. Even days after the cyclone, the Telecom companies are at their own pace in restoring the network.
O Paneer Selvam should have been easily riding over the crisis. The easiest way out has been the Chandrababu’s template of crisis management in Vishakapatnam post-Hudhud in October 2014. The angry cyclone flattened most cell towers then but then Naidu just refused to submit himself and the state to nature’s mercy.
Naidu back then had summoned the top honchos of telecom companies and read out the directive act to them. In less than a week, a proactive Naidu forced the telecom companies to ensure that the communication network was up and running within a week. O Paneer Selvam has a very easy template to follow and it is up to him now.
