Nara Chandrababu Naidu Meets Rahul Gandhi - The Good Bad UglyAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has met Congress President Rahul Gandhi at his residence 7, Tuglak Road at New Delhi as a part of his attempt to form a Save The Nation Front which will bring all anti-BJP parties under one roof. Naidu who already mentioned that any front is not tenable without the support of a major National party reached out to Congress.

But then, this front will bring new tensions to Chandrababu Naidu. TDP was formed with the principle of Anti-Congress ideology and now Chandrababu says it is a compulsion of politics to work together to get rid of BJP. Congress which was ruling Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2014 was reduced to Zero post the State Bifurcation.

Things are not rosy for the Congress at the National Level as well. It will be difficult for Naidu to convince even his supporters about this alliance as it goes against the Founding Principles of the party as well as the current scenario in Andhra Pradesh. If at all, Naidu joins hands with Congress and loses the elections, BJP if returns at the Center will make life hell for the TDP.

Interestingly after sailing together for four years, BJP sees Naidu as its Biggest Enemy may be on par with the Congress and these efforts of uniting the anti-BJP forces will only make that enmity more bitter. TDP and Congress are already contesting together in Telangana which will go for polls on December 7th. If at all the alliance gels well, Naidu may get that extra leverage of 2% votes which will help TDP sail over in a close contest since it will be a three-way contest in AP this time.
