chandrababu-naidu-kcr-governor-narasimhanGovernor of Telugu States, ESL Narasimhan had communicated to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu about Telangana government’s request to handover the Secretariat Buildings in Hyderabad. The Chief Minister is reportedly in favour of the proposal but the final decision will be only taken in the next cabinet meeting of Andhra Pradesh.

This decision of Naidu is in compliant with his earlier decision of ‘Give and Take’ Policy between both the Telugu States. AP Government has all rights on these buildings for 10 years after the bifurcation and can refuse to vacate them. But then the state government is favourably considering it. Telangana government is planning a state of art secretariat in the place of current buildings.

Once Andhra Pradesh government handovers the buildings, they will be demolished and the construction will begin. Andhra Pradesh has a minimal number of staff working in the current Secretariat buildings in Hyderabad. Telangana government have to show alternate accommodation for them before taking over the buildings.
