chandrababu-naidu-decided-cabinet-expansion-municipal-electionsReports are emerging that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has decided to have the cabinet expansion prior to the Municipal Elections and the Process may happen in some weeks time from now. We are told that Naidu already began the exercise for his first expansion post 2014 election win. At least Two to Three Ministers are facing the axe and at least Five to Six new faces will be added.

The Chief Minister is already verifying the Progress Report of the Minister in this Two and Half years term and the changes will be made in accordance to that, party needs and social structure. It is also emerging that YSR Congress MLAs who joined TDP may get a chance well unless if there is any technical issue.

There are five-six such MLAs who are expecting a cabinet berth but two or three are likely. Bhuma Nagi Reddy, Jyothula Nehru and Jaleel Khan are the front runners. According to the rules, Andhra Pradesh can have a maximum of 24 Ministers. Currently, there are 19 Ministers excluding the Chief Minister. Naidu is likely to fill his team up to the brim.

There is a feeling even in the TDP supporters that some of the ministers in Chandrababu’s team are not working upto the expectations of the people and to the standards set by the Chief Minister. The Cabinet Rejig is pending for a while now and is getting postponed repeatedly for various reasons. It has to be seen if that brings some radical changes.
