Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has got hero’s welcome in Thullur, the upcoming state capital in his first visit to the region. Chandrababu cut the New year cake and wished the people from there itself. Several farmers came to the event and handed over their pass books to him accepting to surrender their lands for the capital.
While leaders and police have anticipated protests from farmers who are not interested in participating in the land pooling, nothing such sort happened. Chandrababu will be leaving to West Godavari from here.
The land pooling in capital villages began on Wednesday. 27 teams are interacting with farmers and getting ‘agreement letters’ from them. Each team headed by a deputy collector is allotted for a unit of 1000 to 1400 acres. Two Tahsildars, two deputy Tahsildars and Surveyors will be part of each team. The teams were instructed to take as many agreement letters as possible by January 15th.
