Chandra Babu Naidu’s idea of having a state capital near Vijayawada has a very deep thought process involved. Even though the land acquisition is going to cost more in this area, government will be saving a lot of money in creating infrastructure and connectivity to the capital since both Vijayawada and Guntur are already well connected and developed.

Even though the capital is situated near to Vijayawada or Guntur, the broader idea is that the development in and around the capital will be spread across so that the state will have an extended capital with Vijayawada and Guntur becoming the twin cities. Government in the next few years will be concentrating on developing the Metro Rail and International Airports in the capital and encourage industrialization to create more employment opportunities.

Chandra Babu government has ambitious plans to transform Andhra Pradesh into Swarnandhra Pradesh and place it among the top three states in the country by 2022. Chandra Babu is also clear in his priorities of not having a capital in remote location like Donakonda which do not have even proper road and rail connectivity. If the capital is in such state, it is certain that no investor will come forward to put in his money there since the place lacks proper infrastructure despite any amount of tax concessions.
