Of the many capitals’ models presented to him, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu reportedly developed a liking towards Gujarat’s Gandhinagar. It is said that he is very much impressed with the sectoral planning of Gandhinagar, and the land acquisition and other procedures followed by the Gujarat government to build the state capital and Narendra Modi later to develop it.
Chandra Babu has instructed a team in the leadership of Minister Narayana to tour Gandhinagar on September 9th and study the model of Gandhinagar. Senior officials and chief town planning officials of the state will accompany the team and will meet and discuss with Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority (GUDA), the Gandhinagar municipal authority and the capital development authority regarding their experiences. Gujarat officials will also explain the visiting team regarding major projects such as Infocity, GIFT city, academic institutions and government agencies.
