Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu is thinking on the lines of curbing VIP culture in Temples across the state. VIP culture is creating lot of problems for the common devotees. Most VIPs do not come in the allotted time for VIP darshans. They also bring lot of their family members and followers which is increasing the time of VIP darshan. And in the other issues, these VIPs are pressurizing to issue cottages to their family and followers which is proving to be a costly affair too.

Some of the VIPs are insisting on ‘Poorna Kumbam’ welcome even after 6 PM which is against the customs. According to the protocol, only President, Vice President, Chief Ministers, Governors, State Ministers, Union Ministers, Cabinet range Chairmen, Supreme court and high court Judges can only have the Poorna Kumbam Welcome. Government is also planning to curb the rule of issuing shawl, garland, towel and Prasadam to VIPs as all are equal before the god. Government is planning to form a committee to revise existing rules and formulate strict directives on VIP protocol
