Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav replied in writing to a question posed by TDP MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar in the Rajya Sabha on the Visakhapatnam railway zone. He said the DPR has been prepared by the special officer appointed to set up the Visakha Zone.
He also said the DPR is currently under consideration by the Railway Department. However, he said there is no time limit for when the new zone will become operational. He also said the decision to merge Waltair division into the new zone would be made after all consideration.
The Union Minister said he had received requests from MPs, MPs and the people to include the Walther Division in the new zone. Ashwini Vaishnav clarified that the scope of the zone will be determined taking all the factors into consideration.
Usually, Governments say there is no timeline when they plan to keep the issue in back-burner. People of Uttarandhra are now worried about this answer and feel if their wait would become endless.
