Center To Checkmate Jagan's Ambitious Plan?Central Government had added a twist to the ongoing RTC strike in Telangana saying that the bifurcation of APSRTC is yet to be completed and there is no permission for the reorganization of the RTC from the Union Government. The Union Government has a 33% stake in APSRTC and does not recognize the existing APSRTC and TSRTC in both states.

This came as a shock for Telangana Government. But it may add a twist to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Government as well. Andhra Pradesh Government is making quick strides in merging the corporation into the Government as per the promise of Jagan during his Padyatra. Now, the government fears if the center can stall the process for the same reason.

According to the information from our sources, Andhra Pradesh Government did not seek the Center’s permission regarding the merger. With the merger, more than 50,000 employees of APSRTC, who have been demanding better job security for years, will now be treated on par with state government employees.

he service rules and facilities will be on par with state government employees. The retirement age will also be increased from 58 to 60 years. The APSRTC had accumulated losses of Rs. 6,373 crore and these losses are to be absorbed by the Government. Meanwhile, Jagan’s friend and his Telangana counterpart, KCR always maintained that the merger demand is senseless and untenable.
