BJP led Central Government shocked Andhra Pradesh big time. The union government had decided to hand over the Coal Mines found in Krishna and West Godavari to Telangana owned Singareni Colleries. Andhra Pradesh government had requested the government to give those mines to Andhra Pradesh Mining Development Corporation (APDMC).
But then, Mining Minister, Piyush Goyal announced in the Parliament that after discussions with all the stakeholders, the proposal of APMDC is rejected. He also added that AP will get coal supplies from Union Government’s own reserves.
Coal Mining will have huge implications on the environment and local people living there. Andhra Pradesh people undergoing all that for the interests of Telangana owned Company can not be ratified. This may lead to a big controversy going further.
