Separate Railway Zone to Vishakapatnam is one of the easiest promises in Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Bill. But in about Two and Half Years after 2014 elections, Center is still sitting on the proposal and TDP – BJP combine will face the heat of it in the upcoming Greater Vishakapatnam Municipal Corporation.
A Special Railway Zone with Vishakapatnam as Headquarters will mean that depriving the profitable Waltair Division of East Coast Railway Zone which will irk Odisha. BJP, however, is not in a position to do that. The results of the Panchayat Polls of Odisha revealed the other day will give us an idea why.
Out of the total 188 Zilla Parishad Seats, BJD managed to win 94, BJP wins in 66 and Congress just manages to keep 11. BJP replaced the position of Congress and pushed the latter to the third position. Also one can see the difference between the first two position is close enough for BJP to fancy its chances in the state.
A hopeful state of Odisha is more important than Andhra Pradesh where BJP is totally clueless and so BJP will cook the goose forever on the issue or will give an alternative choice of Railway Zone to Andhra Pradesh but with a different headquarter.
