Central Government is not keen on denotifying 31000 Acres of Forest Lands the state government had sought for Amaravati. Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act mandates the center to denotify forest lands for Amaravati. But Center is not keen on helping the state government.
A committee was appointed to look into the issue under Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Ajay Kumar. The committee will study the Master Plan of the Capital will ascertain the need of forest lands for this ambitious project.
The committee appointed Union Environment and Forests Ministry will submit its report in four weeks time. The state government is being restless about the center being non-co-operative even on this front beside not helping the ambitious project financially.
