Ahead of the General Elections in 2019, BJP led Central Government is moving steps to appease the voters. The Union Cabinet has approved 10% Reservations to the Economically Backward Upper Castes. Reservations will be applicable to the OC Category People who have family income less than 8 Lakhs.
Until now, Reservations are confined only to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes. There is a dissent in the sections which do not have Reservations about even the rich in those sections enjoying the Reservations. The poor in the Upper Castes are disappointed about losing our oppurtunities just for taking birth in those castes.
So, this reservation will address the issue. The complete details of this decision are yet to emerge. BJP opines that this decision will be a gamechanger for the party especially with the Middle Class of the Upper Castes in the upcoming elections.
