Andhra Pradesh Assembly passed the bill of Increasing the retirement age bill. Increasing the retirement age from the existing 58 years to 60 years. This is one of the prime promises of Telugu Desam Party for government employees. Chandra Babu in the Assembly announced that retiring age is set after studying several countries in the world and their existing systems. Chief Minister himself introduced the bill in the Parliament.

Chandra Babu mentioned that state will lose the services of experienced employees due to the low retirement age. So, this act of the government will help the state. Chandra Babu stated that employees role increased their importance in the wake of state bifurcation and requested their help in the state development. He also declared the agitation days of employees during Samayikya Andhra movement as holidays. He also promised an insurance policy for employees.
