Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu made an announcement in Assembly regarding the next state capital. Chandra Babu clarified that the capital will be located near Vijayawada but still let the suspense going by not revealing the exact location. Babu revealed that the cabinet has decided that the capital will be centrally located to all the regions of the state and the development will be decentralized with 5 Grids, 7 Missions, 3 Mega Cities and 12 Smart Cities. The cabinet also appointed a committee to decide up on the land pooling for the capital.

On the occasion, Chandra Babu also released a detailed note about the government’s vision so as how to develop each and every district of the state. Chandra Babu also lambasted opposition alleging that they are trying to ignite violence in the state creating political differences in the state. The Chief Minister also invited opposition party to discuss on the capital and not to create unnecessary ruckus for political gains.

Earlier in the day, YSR Congress MLAs stormed in to Speaker’s well and made the Speaker to stall the proceedings of the house for two times before the CM’s announcement. Even after Chandra Babu’s statement and his repeated requests, YSR Congress MLAs did not budge and continued to stage the protests. Speaker Kodela was left with no options but to adjourn the house once again.
