Vijay Sai Reddy - YS JaganThe CBI-ED special court has made it clear to CM Jaganmohan Reddy and YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy that it is giving them a last chance to start their arguments. This is in the wake of the completion of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) inquiry into the Jagati Publications case in connection to CM’s disproportionate assets case.

The case was heard in a special court on Wednesday. The court was told by the ED that the trial, in this case, was complete. The court instructed their lawyers to begin arguments with this. Jagan and Vijaysai Reddy want the court to complete the trial of the CBI cases and then move to ED cases.

But then, this request has been quashed already by the CBI Court. It has to be seen if Jagan and Vijaysai Reddy’s lawyers will use the final opportunity. If they do not start the arguments, the court may give a ruling taking consideration of ED’s arguments in the case and proceed to the verdicts.

ED cases are really tough to crack. Unlike in other cases where the investigating agencies have to provide evidence, the onus in ED cases are on the accused to prove themselves as innocent. Hence, ED cases resolve easily when compared to the CBI Cases. So, Jagan wants CBI cases first.
