jana-reddy

The oldest political party of the country, Congress is resorting to caste politics to retain its ground in Telangana. The first government of Telangana is headed by Velamas who are the politically dominant force in the state. to regain their lost supremacy over the state, Congress party is trying to fan the Reddys on to Velamas. They hope that the rivalry between both the castes will bring up Reddys to Congress’ side.

There is a strong buzz in the political circles that PCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah will be made responsible for the possible Medak by-poll defeat and will be replaced by the senior-most leader of the party, K Jana Reddy to appease the Reddys. Experts also say that choosing Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, as the party candidate in the Medak by-poll, over several candidates such as former deputy CM Damodara Rajanarasimha, former Union minister Balaram Naik and Sarve Satyanayarana and PCC general secretary C Srinivas is also a Reddy appeasement move.
