Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao met Governor ESL Narasimhan and had a closed door meeting with him for about three and half hours last evening. In the meeting, Intelligence DG AK Khan and AG Ramakrishna Reddy were also present. There are intense speculations in media if that is about Cash for Vote which came back into the light with ACB court orders.
The court ordered the re-investigation to be completed by next month 29th and Telangana ACB has to investigate TDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu’s role in it with the alleged Phone Conversation with Nominated MLC, Elvis Stephenson. However, Telangana government has to tread carefully on the issue as they are dealing with the head of the other state.
There are also several legal implications arising out of this case. Naidu can not be pinned down legally as he did not speak a word about money or any others if the voice is his own. And also, the question of phone tapping will arise about the recorded clip. If the claims of the Telangana Home Minister back then are true about Phone Tapping, then the issue may threaten the very existence of KCR’s government like how it happened to some governments in the past.
Due to these reasons, Telangana government went slowly in this case. They can not pin down Naidu with the available evidence and pursuing the case may give clean chit to Chandrababu. If Telangana government is really involved in Phone Tapping, it can also be a reason for the case getting slowed down. However, this case may provide fodder for Opposition Parties for a while.
