Ministers have been dropping hints about the administration shift to Vishakapatnam very soon. Accordingly, GVMC is making special arrangements. The Corporation is planning to allocate a separate highway from the Airport to the city. The secretariat may be set up in an educational institution present in Boyapalem.
The highway from Airport to this spot will pass through NAD, Gopalapatnam, Simhachalam, Haumanthavaka, and Madhurawada. This stretch is 35 Kilometers long. There is a highway already in the route but it has to be expanded for a two kilometers stretch and some houses have to be demolished.
This road will be developed with 100 Crore Rupees. The tenders are likely to be called soon. The Chief Minister’s security officials have arrived in the city and examined the entire stretch. They gave some crucial inputs to make the entire route safe. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister’s residence may be set up at Beach Road.
Some buildings constructed as Smart City mission, a guest house, and a function hall are being considered. With YSR Congress gaining a majority in the council, the bill of three capitals will be passed soon. But it has to be seen how the courts will be managed since there is a status quo order in place with respect to the capital.
