Supreme_Court_YS_JaganIn March last year, the High Court stayed on the bills pertaining to three capitals giving hope to Amaravati farmers. The Government did not do anything about it for six months and finally moved Supreme Court in November against the High Court judgment.

Since then, it is in a hurry to get the matter heard. When the Supreme Court was about the hear the matter, there are allegations of Bench hunting by the Government and the hearing did not happen.

On the government’s insistence, the court agreed to hear the issue on March 28th.

But Jagan Mohan Reddy set a muhurath on March 22nd and so wants an urgent hearing.

The counsel representing the Government today requested Justice KM Joseph Bench for an urgent hearing.

The bench refused to entertain the plea and said it would hear the matter only on March 28th as said earlier.

The bench did not even allow the counse to place the request before the Chief Justice of India.

We will have to see if Jagan will postpone the capital shift after this judgment.
