Karanam Balaram won as Chirala MLA on the TDP ticket in the 2019 elections. He shifted to YSR Congress after the elections. Balaram’s son Venkatesh is made YSRCP’s Chirala incharge. He is doing the Gadapa Gadapaku program as well.
Former MLA Aamanchi Krishnamohan contested in Chirala on a YSRCP ticket and lost. Jagan is asking Aamanchi to contest from Parchur to take on TDP Senior Eluri Sambasiva Rao.
Aamanchi has good connections in Parchur but is not interested in contesting from there. He feels Chirala is an easy bet for him and with no proper leadership in TDP.
If at all, Jagan forces, Aamanchi wants Jagan to keep Balineni Srinivasula Reddy away from Parchur. It was Balineni who brought Karanam Balaram into YCP to trouble Aamanchi.
It is tough to keep Balineni away from the Prakasam district. Moreover, he is a relative of Jagan. So, it is tough for Jagan to choose between both of them.
Parchur YSRCP Incharge Raavi Ramanadham Babu is silently waiting for the official announcement. His group will trouble Aamanchi if Raavi does not get the ticket.
Meanwhile, TDP internal surveys say Eluri is conveniently ahead in Parchur.
