Cabinet decides President's Rule in AP

The Union Cabinet met a short while ago and recommended President’s Rule in Andhra Pradesh. The proposal will be sent to the President and up on his nod, Governor will become incharge of the state administration. On the other side cabinet did not decide up on the ordinance of drowning villages due to Polavaram project. This is the second time AP going in to President’s rule. First time it happened during Jai Andhra movement in 1937.

Earlier there were speculations that Congress will make a Kapu leader as Chief Minister to go to polls. However they felt it is not possible to convene CLP meeting to elect a new leader in the wake of high tensions due to state bifurcation. On the other side, the notification for general elections will be out by in a couple of days.
