Buggana Rajendranath ReddyFinance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy spoke to a local Newspaper in Singapore on the sidelines India – Singapore Business Summit 2019 and made some ridiculous comments on Amaravati. Much to the insult of the State, Buggana went on to say that the State Government do not have funds for the construction of Amaravati.

“We have no funds for Amaravati now. We are trying to increase income by encouraging Agro-based industries. Moreover, we do not want to confine the development of one city and decentralize the development of the entire state. We are not ignoring Amaravati but a decision the Capital City will take a few months,” Buggana said.

Singapore External Affairs Minister, Vivian Balakrishnan also spoke about Amaravati. “The new government in Andhra Pradesh is just 100 days old. It is yet to confirm the signals it is sending to the investors. The State Government’s decision will decide the future of the Project. If a State Government changes its priorities every now and then, the contractors will decide if or not to continue in such projects”.

It is ridiculous on the part of Buggana to say Andhra Pradesh is not in the position to finance its capital on an international stage which will send wrong signals to the investors.
