If the Buzz in the National Media is to be believed, Election Commission of India is all set to announce the Schedule of Indian General Elections this evening at 5 PM. The election is likely to be held in 7 or 8 phases in the span of one month. We may know the result by mid-May.
Along with the General Elections Schedule, Election Commission will also release the schedules for the Assembly Elections of the States like Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh. Rumours are that Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will go for the elections in the first phase itself.
As we all know, Telangana also should have been going for elections but KCR dissolved the house early and went for elections. For 2014 elections, Election Commission announced the schedule on March 5th. The Elections for Telangana happened on April 30th and the polling in Andhra Pradesh took place on May 7th.
